I have been married for over 32 years; have two beautiful daughters and three amazing granddaughters. I have been an early learning educator for 27 years; I have run my own in-home family child care business, I have worked in center-based child care, I have been an advocate for children, a lobbyist for family child care providers, and a volunteer provider for our military families. I believe our children are our greatest asset and should be a priority in Minnesota. I also know firsthand the support that early learning workers need in order to continue providing the level of care that parents expect and deserve!
I am a wife and mother of three adult children, and grandmother of six. Working with children and those who care for them has been my life’s work. My love of children has moved me into many arenas. Prior to owning and operating my licensed family child care for 15 years, I was a K- 12 teacher and coach in the public and private school system. Realizing the need for provider support, I helped to start our county child care association and have been a member of the Minnesota State Association for many years. I spent nine years as a board member for a child care food program. I remained in child care becoming a family child care substitute and advocate for providers. I worked as a Girl Scout leader and camp director, religious education teacher, and a preschool community education teacher. Before starting my family child care I worked at a child care center. My passion is to maintain and improve social justice for children, families, and providers.
